Day 1: Arrival in Kigali, Rwanda

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your tour guide who will transfer you to your hotel in Kigali. After checking in, enjoy a relaxing lunch either at your hotel or a local restaurant. In the afternoon, embark on a city tour of Kigali, where you will visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial to learn about the country’s history and resilience, as well as explore bustling local markets for a taste of Rwandan culture. Return to your hotel in the evening for a delightful dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

After a hearty breakfast, depart from Kigali and embark on a scenic drive to Volcanoes National Park, located in the northwest of Rwanda. En route, marvel at the breathtaking landscapes and rolling hills that Rwanda is famous for. Upon arrival at the park, check into your lodge and have lunch while enjoying the serene surroundings. Spend the afternoon relaxing at the lodge or taking a leisurely walk to explore the nearby area. Dinner will be served at the lodge, where you will also spend the night, preparing for the thrilling adventure ahead.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

Wake up early for a hearty breakfast before heading to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking etiquette and safety. After the briefing, set off on your unforgettable gorilla trekking adventure, guided by experienced trackers who will lead you through the dense forest in search of a gorilla family. Once you find the gorillas, you will spend an awe-inspiring hour observing these majestic creatures in their natural habitat. Return to the lodge for a well-deserved lunch and some rest. In the afternoon, you can visit the nearby Iby’iwacu Cultural Village to learn about the local culture and traditions. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the lodge.

Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Uganda

Enjoy breakfast at the lodge before embarking on a cross-border journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda. The drive offers stunning views of the countryside and gives you an opportunity to experience the contrast between the landscapes of Rwanda and Uganda. Upon arrival in Bwindi, check into your lodge and have lunch. Spend the afternoon relaxing or exploring the lodge’s surroundings. Dinner will be served at the lodge, where you will spend the night in preparation for another day of gorilla trekking.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Departure

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking in Bwindi. Set off into the lush, dense forest with your guides to track another family of mountain gorillas. The trekking can be challenging, but the reward of seeing these incredible primates up close is well worth the effort. After spending time with the gorillas, return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you will be transferred back to Kigali for your departure flight, with the option to make a brief stop at the Equator for photos and souvenirs. Reflect on your amazing gorilla trekking adventure as you head home with unforgettable memories.
